Interruptalicious
So, I decided to try out that lovely new skill Web of Disruption. As much as I love Domination, the one thing I do not like about it's interrupts are the recharge times so I decided to try to come up with a nice little build that is effective enough for me to use and simple enough for that tubby little bundle of fun, Norgu, to use.
I would like some feedback on a few points:
Me/Rt
Weapon: Swiftspell's Staff
(I could use The Mindclouder - but I bought this staff and I like the novel "Fast Casting +1" on it.)
Attributes
Fast Casting: 10 + 1
Illusion: 12 + 1 + 2
Inspiration: 8 + 1
Restoration: 2
Skills
Flesh of my Flesh
Mantra of Recovery {E}
Frustration
Arcane Conundrum
Web of Disruption
Power Return
Leech Signet
Signet of Clumsiness
Ok, One issue is energy management...so far it's not TOO much of a problem...but when I get onto a lag free PC and I can spam stuff more this may change! Should I include better energy gaining skills? I don't like energy tap so are there any other suggestions?
Another is this seems very Anti-Caster...Should I try to balance it so it is also anti-melee or just go one way or the other? I was considering replacing Arcane Conundrum for Clumsiness or Images of Remorse.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Edit: To clarify... it's for PvE. I hate PvP and I don't care if it wouldn't work there.

Well you could try taking that rit urn that gives you armor and energy i forgot the name of it though. And with 2 signets you shouldn't have THAT much of a problem with energy. Power drain is and always will be a godly interrupt even with little pieces into inspiration.

The reason I'm not using power drain, as nice as it is, is the recharge on it...which is still 12.5 seconds even with Mantra of Recovery. This is also the problem with the signets. The signets may require no energy but they have long recharges, which means I will end up spamming the spells. Unfortunately there doesn't seem room for Mantra of Inscriptions I think it is called. May look into the Ritualist Ashes.

seems like a reasonable good build to me
for most of Prophecies i used the follwing Domination build:
Domination - 16
Inspiration - 10
Fastcasting - whatevers left over (cant remember)
Echo [E]
Power Spike
Ether Feast
Power Drain
Empathy
Leech Signet
Shatter Enchantment
Resurrection
(For areas where i needed more Anti Melee, i added in Mind Wrack, spirit Shackles, Energy Burn and Energy Tap and Occasionally Energy Surge (for Power Spike, Power Drain, Leech sig, Shatter enchant and Echo) althouhg due to the Ai changes i dont know how effective this is now, since i havnt had chance to play as my mesmer for a while)
that pretty much took care of all the casters in Tryia and Cantha
I would recomend going more Anti 1 type rather than trying to go both. some skills howver can be used for both like energy burn. You can makes some usful builds that counter both, but this results in being not as effective as if u were more specialised but that can be said for most build options.

13 second recharge on power drain is godly (I run MoR in pvp). Is there any reason to double up on frustration and arcane? Web of Disruption + Drain delusions might be nice e-management and fun as well.

So I was playing with the build last night. I replaced Signet of Clumsiness with Images of Remorse. I was looking for Drain Delusions...but I can't find it. Is it only available in the realm of torment? My mesmer is currently at the Gates of Desolation and I've not seen it at any of the skill trainers yet. It doesn't look especially good as e-management though. You spend, say, 5 energy putting on Images of Remorse, then you spend 5 energy taking off the hex. With the points I have in Inspiration I think I drain 3 energy and hench gain 6 energy. Is this worth it?

I think drain delusions was suggested because you have 9 points in inspiration, wanted some type of e-management and Web of Disruption is more useful when you have a hex ender skill to trigger it's second interrupt on command.
Whether or not Norgu is clever enough to use it that way, I have no idea. Poor Norgu. So much pressure to perform.
/me cracks tiny whip at Norgu

LMAO! I just love norgu, he comes out with some classics. I understand now why you suggest using it with web of disruption. I could of course always take something else instead of a res... lol

Drain delusions isn't really for energy managment, but energy efficiency. Speaking of energy management, I still don't see why you're using leech sig over power drain. Power drain is already better than leech sig with its normal recharge, so now it's....doubly better? 13 seconds compared to 30? Even better, why not use both? If you need to interupt a skill, just use web of disruption...

Was using Leech Signet because it will interrupt anything...not just spells. I'm not too happy about this and I may consider switching to Power Drain. There are currently no harsh energy management concerns atm. I did buy Drain Delusions and yes, it's a great way of getting a double interrupt out of Web of Disruption.
I tried this build in the Gate of Pain over the weekend... OMG... Mantra of Recovery + Power Return = GG Terrorweb Dryders.
"What was that? You were trying to cast Fireball? Ether Prism? Lightning Bolt?..."
So yea, now I'm on this and it seems to work like a charm:
Flesh of my Flesh
Mantra of Recovery {E}
Frustration
Drain Delusions
Web of Disruption
Power Return
Leech Signet
Clumsiness
Perhaps I'll try swapping Leech Signet for Power Drain but I guess it depends what i'm likely to come up against. One thing I want to do though is to buy a Fast Casting mask so I can have enough points in Fast Casting to make Mantra Of Recovery last as long as it's recharge.
